Doutor Risotto

Doutor Risotto is a renowned Palermologist. He’s a ridiculously happy optimist — cheerful, dreamy, and a proudly silly character, holder of extraordinary knowledge... about absolutely irrelevant things. Born in Mozambique and deeply in love with chocolate. He has a voice and rhythm that should really be studied by the National Association of Bad Singers (NABS). A dancer with two left feet, he’s occasionally referred to as a ballroom master — of the couch version! Loves chocolate and rice pudding. If only he could play football... he might have become a foosball legend. His famous left foot is a reference — mainly when he plays solo. He dreams big, of a pink-colored world, full of life’s sweet and joyful flavors!

Alba Lorente Carbayo

Doutora Lola Girassola

Doutora Lola Girassola is as exotic as a tortilla de patatas, charming everyone with her sweet accent. A true expert in nonsense, she earned her degree in Foolishness purely out of curiosity. Cheerful and absent-minded, she never forgets a smile. Eclectic like a cozido à portuguesa, she does Elvis impressions in front of the mirror — but for her, the real secret to happiness is dancing to La Macarena. Her favorite hobby is cloud-watching, and she firmly believes that the siesta should be considered a national sport. Doutora Lola Girassola always recommends moving your cheeks in a vertical direction — daily!

Doutor Zé D’Alguém

Doutor Zé D’Alguém was born in the lush Azores. This peculiar artist has always had a complicated relationship with directions — his father, a great explorer, went out for a pack of cigarettes and never came back. He left him one thing: a complete lack of sense of direction. Always carrying a map in his pocket (which he sometimes mistakes for a napkin), Zé D’Alguém keeps painting the world in his own unique colours. Grumpy when his feet are cold and terrified of spiders, nothing makes him happier than a handful of colourful gummy candies. If you find him lost somewhere, offer him a map and some gummies — he’ll be grateful, even if he still has no idea where he’s going.

Doutora Balelas

Doutora Balelas was born on a Friday the 13th in Coimbra and is practically a PhD in blunders. But truth be told, she has a gift for turning even the biggest messes into moments of pure joy and sparkle — always with her unique charm. Though naturally scatterbrained, she scares away her troubles with a song. Balelas loves, loves to sing and enchant. She has an incredible memory and never forgets a friendly face. She enjoys teasing her friends with playful nonsense — her famous “balelas”. She’s surprisingly easy to win over — it’s almost scary! Just don’t make the mistake of offering her chocolate (she hates it — blame the Friday the 13th curse). But flash her a smile, and I promise she’ll love it.

Ruben Pinto

Doutor Pimenta MipraSi

Doutor Pimenta MipraSi was born in a beautiful Italian town called Baiali. He’s the grandson of a world-famous Maestro — the legendary composer of the most well-known song on Earth: ``I Threw a Stick at the Cat.`` (Yes, that one.) His father was the first producer of Pão de Ló de Ovar without eggshells, and his mother was a famously certified fishmonger — proudly verified by the GDF (General Directorate of Fishmongery). Beyond being a great musician, Dr. Pimenta is also a herb specialist. He always has a solution for everything. Always.

Alice Maia Coelho

Doutora Cuca e Meia

Doutora Cuca e Meia is from Porto but firmly believes the best francesinhas are found in Vila do Conde. She’s an expert in Prolonged Forgettology and is often seen practicing her cucaroling down the hospital corridors. She hates cardio and lives by the philosophy that one should only run if wild boars are involved. That said, much to her dismay, she always ends up running... after time itself (a side effect of her own expertise). She claims to be vegetarian, yet holds a deep grudge against peas and only pretends to like quinoa out of social courtesy. Despite it all, this doctor is a lovably sweet cuca, though slightly out of order — instead of giving you the time, she’ll give you the half.

Doutora Violeta Variações

Doutora Violeta is irredeemably colorful — probably the best way to describe her. A lifelong fan of her great-uncle, the legendary Variações who needs no introduction, she’s definitely inherited the family flair. Surely she has a little guardian angel protecting her from all the stumbles (when her head isn’t quite in order...), but every now and then, it’s her body that pays the price for the wild adventures of her roaring twenties — adventures she never leaves for tomorrow. “Let me pay, let me pay!” She grew up in Pedrogão Pequeno, a village close to her heart, but stands nearly 1.70m tall. From there, she spread like a stubborn weed — a tough clay to shape. She’s lived in Coimbra, Figueira da Foz, Castelo Branco, Caldas da Rainha, Pampilhosa da Serra... and she’ll keep searching for her world and her place, because until now she’s just... (everyone together)... well, being a clown! The rush to arrive is real — she knows how time flies, even if she’s sometimes late. But love is not about time, nor does time make love. Free, brilliant, and proudly vain, Doutora Violeta Variações never lets life slip away. She chases lost dreams and always has a pick-up song up her sleeve.

Doutor Adalberto Contratempo

Doutor Contratempo is a master in the art of entering on the wrong beat. Awarded with prizes no one has ever heard of, he swears he’s been given a standing ovation… but it was by mistake. Born in Matosinhos but living in the Village of Music, he always carries his faithful ukulele, which he plays with the precision of a broken clock. A specialist in invented musical notes, he graduated in Applied Out-of-Tune and holds a postgraduate degree in Unexpected Rhythms. He says life is like a good meat piano: best enjoyed slowly. His favourite pastime is trying to drink grape tea without spilling it (he’s never succeeded) and believes that the right chord can change someone’s day — but if it’s the wrong one, at least it gets a laugh. Doutor Contratempo recommends that everyone take breaks… musical and in life!

Doutor Phara Fuso

Nobody knows exactly where Doutor Parafuso came from. They say he showed up one day with a smile on his face, a screw in his pocket, and maybe another one a little loose. But whether that’s true or not doesn’t really matter — what counts is that ever since, he’s been tightening the screws of joy wherever he goes. Doutor Parafuso is a specialist in fixing bad moods: wherever there’s sadness, he gives a little tweak. He never walks in a straight line; he prefers winding paths — they’re more interesting and have more people to greet. He has an easy laugh, one that’s contagious, and a guffaw that sounds like a wrench turning: it opens any stuck heart. He talks to plants, walls, elevators, and of course, people — but never in a hurry. He wears a coat full of pockets — and in each one, he keeps a trick, a silly question, or a forgotten joke. He loves things that don’t make sense. In fact, he deeply distrusts anything that makes too much sense. If someone tells him he’s missing a screw, he thanks them. After all, that screw gave him the freedom to dance offbeat and smile out of time. He has only one weakness: he can’t resist a dirty mirror. He’ll always try to clean it — with his elbow, a tissue, or a song.

Doutor Manecas

Doutor Manecas is a scholar in the art of pleasing others. He lives to appreciate the little things the world gives him, like smiles, good food, or even the EuroMillions ticket that somehow keeps appearing. Passionate about our country, he knows Portugal from north to south, with the neighbors Madeira and the Azores being his favorite places to visit when he travels. He grew up with three sisters, the women he sees as the greatest example in his life — in his opinion, they are the pillars of humanity, where all our hope lies. Doutor Manecas continues every day to study the science of clowning, so he can share more and more smiles and laughter with everyone he meets.

Doutora Lenga Lena

They say singing chases away your troubles, but dancing does too! And if it’s to the sound of The Beatles, then it’s a guaranteed hit! Straight from Coimbra comes Doutora Lenga Lena, who may lack a bit of common sense but overflows with enthusiasm. She can’t stand still — and doesn’t want to. She’s always snapping her fingers like she’s calling for new ideas, loves a good coffee (or two, or three), and melts for a pastel de nata. Her favorite color is the orange of the sunset, carrying within her the joy of the day’s end with the promise of a new beginning. She once tried to hide her passion for The Beatles, but as soon as she hears “All You Need Is Love,” the choreography just springs to life in her legs and her smile stretches from ear to ear. Doutora Lenga Lena lives in the moment but never gets lost — she finds herself in every laugh shared, every song sung, and every glance exchanged with those she meets. No one knows if she came from the earth or fell from the sky as music — but one thing’s for sure: she’s here and there, sowing love, silly dances, and dreams wrapped in musical notes. And beware: anyone who listens to this Lenga Lena… might just end up singing and dancing too!

Doutora Lenga Lena

He was born in the middle of the sea, although he doesn’t know exactly where, and his parents fell in love on a boat. Cheerful, good-humored, and naive, he is curious about the world and delights in small things like soap bubbles, flying seagulls, or the foam of the waves. He always wants to dance. He lives in a caravan in Lisbon with a troupe of clowns he considers his family, but he would love to have five children and be a father, because he believes life is more beautiful when shared. He falls in love easily, loves traveling, and discovering foods from different countries, with chocolate mousse with fleur de sel — which reminds him of the sea — being his favorite. Vain, he likes to see himself in the mirror and always wears too much perfume so the scent lingers in the air. He often talks to himself, as if several people lived inside him, turning every conversation into a small show. He has a phobia of fishermen, adores all creatures and animals, and his home is filled with shells and conch. And if you ever find him dancing alone on some street, know that he is simply following the secret rhythm he carries within him. Ahhh, and he would love to be in a movie where he could sing, dance, and be in the sea. Can you guess who he is?

Doutora Lenga Lena

She is from Aveiro. One day she woke up in a moliceiro (traditional Portuguese boat) and has been traveling the world ever since in that same boat. She likes constantly changing places and has a perpetual restlessness inside her, which makes her always want to be on the move. She is very absent-minded, but she isn’t aware of it, so she even thinks she’s super attentive and in control. She likes to follow rules, but being a scatterbrain, she never even notices them. She is extremely nosy and likes to know everything about everyone. She is always happy, and the people around her are all amazing. She is fascinated by everything and everyone. She is naive and believes everything she is told. She gets bored very easily. She loves sardines; her favorite dish is sardines à bulha with a duck, and she craves this meal whenever she feels bored (which is almost always). She has a particular hatred for octopuses and despises tentacles. Her favorite dessert is “baba de cavalo” from her grandparents’ farm, a delicacy cooked by her grandmother. She also loves “Doce da Casa” (any sweets she has at home). She is the youngest of many sisters—she can’t even count how many—so she always thinks she’s super young and doesn’t need to take much responsibility. She always feels she’s too young for marriage or boyfriends and likes the idea of being a lifelong single. She comes from a family of nomads; each member is from a different place. Her father is the Guardian of the Ria, and her mother is the best cook, having won 18 awards—one for each district of Portugal. She is very afraid of flying, so she travels everywhere by moliceiro. She loves wearing accessories and adores flamboyant earrings. She loves the Santos Populares festivals and always wants to be celebrating. Her favorite color is “donkey-grey when it gets dark.” She dreams of one day climbing Mount Everest and jumping down dressed as a flying squirrel. When asked where she lives, she says: “Here and there!”
